Who do I contact to get someone enrolled in services at NPOC?

Apply online at DD Application on Access Nebraska if the person needing services is not already qualified for DD Services.

If already qualified for DD Services, contact your service coordinator regarding services at NPOC.

Feel free to contact NPOC and speak to one of our Administrative team members to have a tour of our facilities and get support with the process of locating serves for adults and high school aged children in North Platte and the surrounding areas.

What specific services do you offer related to health care?

We only provide support at appointments, providing updated medication lists or lists of concerns for the doctor, then support of filling and medication administration if needed. We do transport to appointments if needed; however, we will support them to use community transportation if they can attend on their own. Follow-up appointment support is also given if needed.

What are the "daily living skills" that residents learn?

  • Hygiene – showering, shaving, brushing teeth
  • Budgeting
  • Meal planning, shopping, preparation, and storage
  • Healthy lifestyle – to include healthy eating and exercising to meet each person’s specific dietary needs and physical abilities
  • Making doctor and other appointments as needed
  • Attending appointments – support if needed
Do you provide first aid for residents?

We are certified for CPR and first aid through the American Red Cross.

What specific services do you offer related to shopping/grocery?

If their individual support plan notes this is as a need, then we support them with shopping, budgeting, preparing meals from start to finish, transportation, preparing grocery lists, selecting items at the store, locating bargains by using local newspaper ads, and bargain shopping.

What are the requirements to work at the Opportunity Center?
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license
  • Pass an extensive background check
  • Be drug free – able to pass a drug test
  • Enjoy supporting and helping others live better lives
What benefits does NPOC offer?

Our benefits package for full time employee’s includes the following benefits that the Agency pays the entire premium for:

  • PTO
  • Health Insurance – only for the employee – family insurance can be purchased by employee at their expense

  • Vision Insurance – employee pays premium if they elect to purchase
  • 401 K – after one year of employment with NPOC – NPOC puts in 3% each year
